Large scale protests like the Capitol assault are hardly US-centric
any more than the Internet and social media are, or the spread of
political ideologies and the commentariat as evidenced here for
decades (thanks to the open-minded admins and some of the commenters).
Authorities are similarly less isolationist and simply nationalistic
as dissidents, protesters, leaks, publishers, educators,
corporations, investors, the poor, the immigrants, the genders, the
hackers and malwarers.
It would be difficult to find many citizens or subjects of some
hundreds of "nations" not to be extra-nationalistic, extra-ethnic,
extra-religious, extra-ideological, extra-economical and -social and
-lingual, due to the globalist media, entertainment, tourism,
foreign-aidism of safety, health and welfare, treaties galore,
bountiful alliances, elaborate criminal and quasi-criminal
syndicates, drug distribution and money laundering cartels, military
and intelligence sharing and cheating and selling and lying.
Lying, prevaricating, dissimulating, deceiving, lecturing,
pontificating, theorizing, criticizing and ilk may be the top global
political and economic and social produce, outdistancing climate
change and other comparatively trivial initiatives, indeed, the
trivial operations are totally dependent up the gargantuan purveyors
of falsity, betrayal, malginancy, irresponsibility coutured and
curated as beneficial.
Bribery is endemic, even pandemic, through subsidies, grants, gifts,
tax forgiveness, off-shore and in-shore barely, if at all, legal
arrangements to reward participants up and down the scale of income,
education, reputation, credibility, eloquence, social categorization,
networks of self-vaunting influencers, artists, intellectuals, too
many to name so extensive is the willing takers of irresistable
perquisites, if not individually, then for family, creed, bias,
grievance, greedy infection.
What is surprising is that so little carnage has occurred, only small
wars and terrorism, crazed shootings and bombing of dozens,
kidnappings of hundreds, rape of thousands mostly by forced marriage
(millions by tradition and custom and prejudice), tens of thousands
imprisoned in jails and many millions in jobs and without them, while
a few astoundingly rich get rapidly richer carefully rewarding the
smart-asses facilitating and apologizing their unprecedented
extortion which no royalty or Genghis or Aga Khan ever dreamed of
amassing (to be sure the stupendous wealth is primarily data and
belief in imaginary value).
The Capitol adventure does seem mostly ad hoc inflated like a doomed
dirigible into imaginary value by "Made for TV, Made for Social
Media." Fortuitously, coders might fancy, SM has become more
influential than TV, even here, an early SM adventure now
cyber-long-toothed, not many have been on TV compared to the most who
chirp up without paid subscription or publicity for new book. Is
NetTime a socially-influenced mob regularly castigating the sacred
halls of wisdom?
