"While some teachers knew how to use the proprietary software
Microsoft, we helped
them learn the free and open source system Debian. This was the purpose of this
workshop. What struck me was their unfamiliarity with computers when
they started
out; it raised questions about this supposed “IT revolution” that they
say is gripping
the nation. In a city where all the major IT players of the world have
set shop, is it not
strange that the average high school teacher is literally scared to work on a
computer?"
