checked school gnoware and it is really good.
Except orca does not work well, and if I were to promote this in schools for
th blind or may be in regular schools where blind students are integrated,
then there will be some problem.
If you like, I can help fix this.

this is possibly a bug in 9.10 stack. In any case please send the
fix. we have to also do some minor changes before we make the release
for downloads at our site. also would like to see if 10.04 stack
could fix some of the bugs.

All most all the bugs are fixed. Right now I am writing to you from Ubuntu 10.04 RC.
There were some problems amongst the Ubuntu package maintainers
As a result there was a lot of uncertainty about some patches making their way to the final version of lusid (10.04). Specially the controvertial removal of Gimp and having ptv (to duplicate windows shipping movie maker ) where a few issues. The other few issues were about d-bus and looking at the specs now, all seems well.
I am doing some work with rural schools in MP and also in Maharashtra.
This happened because many of the management officials from various colleges I visit also are on the boards of many schools. So gnoware for schools is extremly important for me as a tool to promote foss. On the political side, I have been pushing and following up with a few political leaders who have a strong hold in marathwada and Konkan. I have managed to convince them to adopt free software in schools and from June they will want to have a series of workshops. That time I will be particularly interested to carry either the school OS or Gnoware dvd. And yes the orca problem is fixed in 10.04 lts and I think we must folow that distro.

Happy hacking.
Krishnakant.
