Actually his name doesn't have "Lingam" anywhere in it, but it's not for 
me to reveal it unless the OP himself chooses (or not, as the case may 
be).

On the other hand, the word itself has many connotations in this 
country, and objecting to it would be, IMO, tantamount to objecting to a 
woman named, say, "Ritu" calling herself "Gauri" ("Gori") on a mailing 
list.

Just my 2 paise.  No more from me on this subject.
