There is a mismatch is expectations
FOSSCOMM is supposed to be a central organisation which should lead major
foss adoption projects , advocacy and training. This will come from full
time or 0.75*fulltime commitment. List is not a solution. it is giving a
feel good kind of satisfaction that atleast we are doing something. we
gathered gathered 2-3 times. There are many post exist where nobody care
about replying.

Dhayfule wrote 2-4 times earlier too, and didn't got any attention, Even if
we discuss on his issue, what will be end result... somebody has to work in
real word. For example I raise issue of AICTE, when it comes to mailing
list,it don't provide any solution.. Somebody has to take out time from his
daily life and go to their office to work on issue.
My only point is - We need FOSS adoption,, we can discuss the ways of FOSS
adoption and hurdle and somehow we need to generate funds for it and work in
lots of other issue.
I have noted down 50+ FOSSy colleges Here -
http://lug-iitd.org/FOSS_Representative_of_Indian_Colleges_and_Institutes We
can thing for having a proper organisation (may be like CSI-India ) for foss
adoption.

All I am saying that we have not started FOSSCOMM for just a mailing list
but it is just a mailing list.

Other are other organisation also,,. LIKE FSF INDIA, FSMI and recently
ICFOSS-Kerala,
We can think for merging it to anyone.. We need a serious organisation who
can work at 3 levels
* Political Level - - FOSS adoption in college
* Industry Level -- giving out FOSS support training and new FOSS software
and other fossy project
* Academic Level - FOSS adoption in college and schools

there are person like GT rao who are just surviving on less then 5000 Rs per
month and on the unstoppable mission of ground level foss advocacy -
http://fossyatra.in/node/6 Can we support such guys ?

Can we all, Everybody who are associated with FOSS in India sit in one
common hall to think on what and how ??

We also need to think like how we can create an organisation which can act
as an Organisation and still lead a big community of FOSS in India.. Ex -
FSF , Wikipedia and many other projects have both Organisation and Community
structure in parallel and in sync...
