Yes will be done.

Here is more information from same news:
====================

The Punjab education department's decision to buy Microsoft's software
will cost at least Rs 7 crore in licence renewal fee. Of this, Rs 3.77
crore was approved on Monday.

Besides, about 90,000 computers will be set up in government schools
under the EDUSAT network wherein the students can watch broadcasts of
lectures. According to conservative estimates, the initial cost of
Microsoft's software and licence would be Rs 30 crore. This does not
include the cost of hardware, etc.According to official records, in
February 2011, the chief secretary chaired a meeting attended among
others by principal secretary (education) in which it was decided that
BOSS would be used for EDUSAT. But Purushartha now says: “To ensure
maximum use of the installed computers in which students are being
trained on Microsoft software, we will opt for Microsoft in case of
the EDUSAT labs also.“ However, Husan Lal, secretary (education),
Punjab said the state could opt for BOSS for EDUSAT as students would
only get access to watch lecture broadcasts. “The issue of students
training on a better or otherwise software is not involved,“ Lal said.
