This is ridiculous. While FOSS activists as well as Human rights were fighting against ambiguity and restrictions of UID cards, it has been announced that this card will be made mandatory for Gas Cylinder Booking and Refilling. Not sure about whole drama, but just saw it on NEWS. After searching on the web I came across these links:

What to Do now? I have been stopping my family members from applying for UID, but now they are asking me questions, what to do if such things happen. I cannot preach FOSS and Freedom philosophy to them. We need to do something, at least File petition from stopping mandating UID card for such day to day services. I Plead the biggies of the FOSS community to at least wake up now and do something as they can reach where we small people cannot.!!!!!
