This sends out three messages that a government must not be guilty of under
any circumstances:

- A condescending and paternalistic (I know what's good for you)
attitude.

>> arent all the following also 'paternalistic'("I know what's good for you")
>> and didnt some of us ask for it? I am sure this is the argument from M$ on
>> the subject of FOSS . In the 'live free or die' state of Karnataka. I have
>> many times hear policy makers talk about 'non-intervention' by state and
>> 'equal treatment' and the benign hand of the market.

you'

"Free and Open Source Software will be used in all government funded ICT
e-Governance projects to the maximum extent possible. Preferential treatment
will be given to FOSS as it enables the knowledge to be used democratically,
makes software accessible to every one and is economical."
