That is clearly needed, its a shift of gears from "this is Free Software and it has good features too" to "This is Free Software, but we have to add this and this feature to make it useful and we'll make those features, because we value freedom more" > Just wondering, do we need a foreign bank account for indiegogo campains? No. It is needed only for using paypal as a payment option. Because RBI guidelines restrict foreign donations via paypal. With this only credit cards can be accepted. > To my knowledge it is not directly possible to get foreign currency in > an indian account, either personal or NGO. For NGOs you need FCRA clearance, some NGOs have that. For personal accounts there is no such restriction, you'll have to pay income tax, that's all. > So just curious to know how this can be managed. There are other platforms like wishberry.in and crowdindia.in which allows net banking as a payment option. They allow only all or nothing type of campaigns. I think indiegogo is a good option for gnukhata, if you are using a personal account. In the long run DFF should try to get FCRA clearance, though it can be quite lengthy and bureaucratic process. > Happy hacking. > Krishnakant.
