I think you're confused about dhcpinfo.

That command does _not_ send any messages on the wire.  It doesn't
query the (or any) DHCP server, so it doesn't matter whether the DHCP
server is on- or off-line.  Instead, it uses a private interface to
get information out of the local DHCP client (dhcpagent) regarding the
current lease.

No.  But it does tell you exactly what DHCP-derived information is
available at any point in time.

If you want to pursue the lease-history or logging mechanisms, that's
fine, but I'm not sure how it could be considered to be related to
NWAM.  NWAM has a narrower focus: discovering and setting
configuration parameters.

Can we at least drop the nwam-interest list from this thread?
