Hello james. My aim was not to run the server with a driver from nevada. It was only to test if another version of the same driver that was supposed to detect correctly the pci device pci8086,10b5 was able to detect correctly my device which id is pci103c,3109.
Besides, my server is newly installed, and idle, so I didn't took much risk. I'm glad to learn that the CR6431317 has been implemented in a new version of the kernel patch. That CR is about supporting the device pci8086,10b5 with the driver e1000g, am I right ? The lastest public kernel patch is 118855-19. I hope the kernel patch including that version of the e1000g driver will be made available before the solaris 10 update 3 (in january ???).
