the connections rate is actually normal rate since most packets are blocked by ipfilter. So I don't think I hit that bug. But it good to know it. thanks
In my experience, I saw little difference between the two settings until the rate reaches a threshold. From there the difference becomes clear: if ip_squeues_per_cpu is not set, my connect is freezen. Even console response becomes very slow. While if ip_squeues_per_cpu is set, I could still access my machine and threshold moves higher. Any suggestion why the difference happens? Anyway, what I need is to find the capacity of a given platform and budget my CPU for traffic handling v.s. application processing. For example, if a bge card can handle 1 gaga traffic, does it work with both large packets or small packets? At what CPU load for a given traffic rate/packet size? If somebody can give me some advices on those issues, it will really help thanks Eric This message posted from opensolaris.org _______________________________________________ networking-discuss mailing list [email protected]
