No, there is no panic and everything seems works fine. It looks like a benign bug, though very annoying on every reboot.
The sequence to reproduce this is: 1. install the new driver, reboot 2. in the Network Administration menu, disable current network drivers on the motherboard and enable the new drivers. Then, do another reboot. 3. It happens right after entering password in the Java login menu I have tried a work around, see the "Login Issues" of below http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/819-7324/6n99dt2p0?a=view but does not help.
