It also tells you are connected/routed to the net.
It does *not* tell your /etc/resolv.conf is OK.

You should do: "nslookup www.google.com" and let nslookup figure out the rest 
(80.15.245.3)
I prefer "dig www.google.com" thoug; nslookup is a pain..
Anyway, /etc/resolv.conf should read something like:

domain yourisp.com
search yourdomain.com yourisp.com
nameserver 80.15.245.3
