Solaris 10 lacks support for some newer realtek gigE chips. OpenSolaris
has it, though... more recent is better.

Please also recognize that this forum is for OpenSolaris, not Solaris 10.

I'm not familiar with the HP DV6000. You might want to try sending
prtconf -vp output to this list... SXDE 9/07 should support "most"
network cards out there. But you might need to download an additional
network card driver. (We are working on improving that situation, but
it takes time for drivers to get thru the qualification processes in
order to be integrated so that you don't need to do that download... the
test requirements in particular are quite high... but the drivers that
are integrated usually have a high level of likelihood of Just Working. :-)

looks like you need to assign an IP address to nge.... if you're using
DHCP, you can try doing "ifconfig nge0 dhcp start". Note that NWAM
should make this unnecessary, but NWAM is not enabled by default in all
installations of OpenSolaris. (It should have been for SXDE 9/07,
though. So that's a bit of a surprise.)

Sure.
