Unfortunately, we don't have a tool which can automatically
tell you if there is any problem (or if there is one, what that
problem is) reaching a remote machine. There are many different
probing tools out there (ping, traceroute, pchar, ...). But
I am not aware of a tool which can automatically tell you if
there is a potential problem and what that problem may be in
reaching a remote machine.
I guess this is an interesting project to be done. It can be
fun just investigating how to approach it :-) If people know
that there is such a tool, please bring it up.
