All,

I'm looking to get myself a GigE adapter for the PC I recently acquired, to
run OpenSolaris, and would like to ask if anyone can recommend any given
device; I'm looking at PCIe devices, but if reports favour regular PCI, I
could go with that too.

In the HCL, we only see Intel Pro /1000 *PT* Server Adapter (EXPI9400PT)
devices, whereas intel also has a Intel Gigabit *CT* Desktop Adapter
(EXPI9301CT), which - at first glance - seems quite a bit cheaper than the
PT devices.

Has anyone tested the Desktop Adapter successfully with OpenSolaris, or
provide a good argument why it should work?
How about the PCI device (IntelĀ® PRO/1000 GT Desktop Adapter), which I
don't see in the HCL either?

any other (non-intel) recommendations?

TIA
Michael
