What you're doing seems reasonable; you seem to be hitting some bugs.
The first bug is that zoneadmd is not reporting the right error message,
which is making it harder to understand the second bug.  I can provide
a binary with a fix for that if you let me know whether you need x86
or SPARC, then hopefully we can uncover the second bug.
