All features are worked on in the release-under-development *first*. Always. Backports to older releases (if any) occur only when there's a compelling business case, and when there's an engineering judgment that the work is safe for inclusion in a patch and that it's overall a reasonable answer. They're not often done, even for bug fixes, let alone for new features. Since this list is dedicated to OpenSolaris, I doubt you'll get good answers about Solaris 10 here. S10 isn't OpenSolaris. You should contact your local Sun/Oracle representative instead, and ask for help. (My _guess_ would be that there wouldn't be much of a business case for doing something like that. The fact that you can already get wireshark for S10 and older releases from multiple sources other than Sun means that there's not a really compelling argument to say that Sun "has to" deliver it. But other features have shipped in patches, so what do I know?) -- James Carlson 42.703N 71.076W <carls...@workingcode.com> _______________________________________________ networking-discuss mailing list networking-discuss@opensolaris.org
