Hi, I'm currently looking to consolidate multiple Solaris hosts down into fewer and as part of the process figured that for all SMB paths that are still fixed at the client side, I could get around this using a DNS alias. However as the source and destination servers are AD integrated (winbind) when connecting to the new server via the old name after updating the DNS to point at the new server, the clients are asked for credentials (which if entered are accepted). Whilst I appreciate the source and destination GUID/SID combinations in AD don't match, is there a) anyway to bypass this limitation by using netbios aliases for example or b) a way of joining the same solaris host to AD with two different names?
Thanks!! -- This message posted from opensolaris.org _______________________________________________ networking-discuss mailing list [email protected]
