Thank's for your reply! Yes the commands you suggested indicate that nwam is running. Nwam is set in "automatic" mode. When switching to manual mode there is an "Activate on boot" option in the "Interface properties" window:
http://wikis.sun.com/download/attachments/55119810/networkscreen.gif I'm not sure what it means, i.e. whether this means that it activates the NCU before or after user login. It doesn't make sense to have this option disabled in automatic mode. The online documentation I have found and read is mum on this. On page 268 in the Opensolaris Bible it is implied that nwam automatically initiates the network connection before user login. I'll reboot with this new setting to see if it will work when I get the first opportunity. If that doesn't work I'll try the "physical/default" option. The OpenSolaris Bible seems to provide good instructions on how to configure such a setup. It seems though that there is an nwam related bug somewhere. I'm using a Realtek card which I have heard bad stories about when it comes to OpenSolaris. Perhaps I should file a bug report. -- This message posted from opensolaris.org _______________________________________________ networking-discuss mailing list [email protected]
