Spartan is your local machine or the remote machine?
>From the error message, it looks like the term that you're currently
using tells the remote machine that it's an 'xterm-color', but the
remote machine doesn't know what that means. You'll have to copy over
the xterm-color definitions from /etc/termcap to the remote machine in
order for it to understand (and you may end up creating terminfo
definitions also, I don't know anything about doing that).
Either way, you can install the xterm-color package from Mandrake to get
a "real" color xterm. I don't think this is the part that's causing the
problem though.
