Hi all,
Umm, I just installed Venus (previously had RH6), and its pretty
smooth,
except I found a really lame thing was sadly carried over from RH6.
Normally, when
I upgrade the kernel, I tend to do it like i'm on a slackware box (where
I learned
linux =), so I simply tell lilo.conf to point to /vmlinuz for the
kernel, which RH42
-> 5.2 (including all version of Mandrake up to 5.3 of course) this
works w/o a
hitch. RH6 did something where it would load /vmlinuz, but keep looking
for the
modules (and perhaps other related stuff) in the default directory (ie
/lib/modules/2.2.9-19mdk). This causes a ton of stuff to break. In RH6
this was
worked around with linuxconf, by telling it you compiled a new kernel,
it did some
stuff and it worked. I don't know why this came to pass, but it wasnt
serious.

Here is the meat of the problem, this didn't work with Mandrake, the
linuxconf
thing, so somewhere its pointing to 2.2.9-19mdk for modules, and I have
no idea
where. Anyone?

       Thanks,
            SalsaDoom
