:0 the horror! hehehe did a clean install of 6.0 mandrake and it IS
prettier, I'll grant that, but buggy. My modem woes continue as well as
Printer port probs now, too.
Question is, how do I find out what is causing the lp0 port to not be
recognized? I have a parallel zip drive on that line, but even taking that
off does'nt rectify the situation. How do I find what is causing the
conflict with the modem? it's a pretty garden variety USR 28.8 ISA currently
set up as pnp and working fine on win. I could set the jumpers, but that
screws up the win set up.
and another thing..how come it's damn near impossible to escape KDE
now...I don't have the options I had on 5.3 (ie: restart and shutdown) and
even cntl-alt-del won't kill it...arrrgh! I'll keep digging around for
answers, but if anyone would care to walk me thru one of these glitches in
the meantime, my brain would hurt a lot less! Thanx
