First you might want to upgrade to the latest versions of cdrecord, mkisofs, cdrecord-devel and cdrecord-cdda2wav and your GUI programs. Next, try running them as root - kdesu -c your_GUI_program. The GUI programs usually need to be set up from the root account, allowing other users (you) to burn CDs, too. Smart programs set everything up themselves, you just need to say what user(s) you want to have the rights to burn CDs. Try and set it up, AFAIK X-CD Roast offers to setup a non-root mode right at startup. Exit and try again as normal user. If it doesn't work, try going into drakuser and add yourself to all groups which have something to do with CD (cdburners, cdrw, cdrom, etc.). Try again. :-) -- Good luck Roman
