If you run:

updatedb

...you should be able to then do a "locate minicom" and find it.

Otherwise, if you know you HAVE it, just open up a terminal and type:

minicom

...then wait for a few secs...it should pop right up...then you can
configure it to your liking...

What are you trying to "write" to the modem, anyways?
