Thanks for the response.
I had copied the pref.js to user.js and added my changes to it. In an effort
to try something, I went back and removed the duplicate stuff and changed the
header from #mozilla preferences to #user prefs and it started to work. I
don't really know which change fixed it. Added a couple of other items to
speed it up and stop pop-ups. Pretty neat.
