[newbie] upgrade php 4.0.6 -> 4.3.0 on man8.1

Good .. for everybody! Two days I trying to update my php libs. I ged apache 1.3.26 and php 4.3.0 from related sites. Using help pages on php.net or php.sk I config and make &&make install new versions to /usr/local. Apache I got to work (rewriting conf.filesL). But if I try to get to any server http virtual sites (mostly php) I receive ‘access forbiden’, on error_log: ‘Directory index forbidden by rule: /mnt/live/httpd/site.sk/’…   Please advice me how to most slightly make a best way to upgrade it. Reason why is my php_programmer wants some new features.   I enjoy any advice, web site (no php.net), or threat to do it.   System: Mandrake 8.1 with updates, apache-1.3.22, php-4.0.6   TNX Bohdan Vrana
