In all honesty, I really hate the Mandrake menus - last install I did, I
spent nearly two hours going through the menus for KDE, Gnome2,
Enlightenment and WindowMaker to put them the way **I** like 'em -
short, simple and to the point.

Granted that a "noob" would want to see something more "Windows-ish",
but for me, I can't stand all that clutter and wasted entry space.

Even moreso, when I'm "really being productive" I sometimes do not use a
window manager at all - nada - nothing. At those times I fire up
Openwindows - lean, mean and ready for biz...and sometimes even less - I
don't use a graphical system at all - just CTL-ALT-F1 through F10 - that
gives me enough terms to live with...

...but overall, "noobs" like heaps of completely unnecessary and
unwanted menu entries to "oogle" at - until they find Xterm and find out
what doing "ls -CFa /usr/bin" is like - then "menus be damned" - (g).

Once I get my voice recognition stuff working here, I might just chuck
away the keyboard and moooose altogether - save a few extra address
spaces and IRQ's to use for something better - like a USB self-powered
tie-clasp temperature monitor, or a self-monitoring electronic goldfish
bowl...
