Do you have similar problems when using Mandrake Update? If you open Mandrake Control Centre>SoftwareSources you can easily change your update source. Just select the update source and click 'Edit'
I find this source nice and fast ftp://ftp.rediris.es/pub/linux/distributions/mandrake/updates/9.0/RPMS With a relative path of ../base/hdlist.cz If you are on dialup, the printer updates will take some time since they are quite large. 2/ I do not have one, but many people have reported that the Canon drivers are not very good. Canon have a poor reputation regarding their co-operation with Open Source projects. People have reported better success with Turboprint http://www.turboprint.de/english.html Turboprint is not free software, but is no cost for personal use.
