Hi Derek,

Yes I do have a problem with Mandrake's update site. Any time I try and
update anything I get that error (I think they should add a "retry"
button and give you an option of a different source for the package).

Anyway, I "think" I was able to change the source entry (the clip board
was no help at all - needs work I think).

I am on a cable modem so downloading large packages are not a problem
for me.

I have heard that Canon is rather hostile to the Linux environment but
all I want it to do is throw ink at a page (nothing fancy).

I will be tinkering with it again later today to see if I have better
luck at it.
