Yes, you are right. I stand corrected. I have been under false guise for quite some time now. This all stemmed from false information I recieved a year ago.
Lots un unneeded kernel recompiles.... I checked and it seems that it is compiled as a module. I suppose if you wanted better performance, you could recompile it into the kernel. But this is still less work than what I have been doing.
