Looks like the computer might be a bit old, can't boot from CDrom. I had that problem in the past, and I had to create a boot disk and boot via floppy method.

Let me ask you something. Can you boot from a Windows CD? The reason I
ask you this is because the Mandrake CD may be corrupted.
