Under window my modem is known as:
Motorola Modem SURFR 56k internal
Input/Output range: 03e8-03ef
Interupt request : 10
First i've checked to make sure that the modem is not a winmodem. Itis
not.
I'm trying to set it up using kppp. I've tried all the modem device
choice but none
seem to detect a modem. I was told that i could use the command ISAPNP
to
have my modem detected. I've edit the file /etc/isapnp.conf and
activated the
following line:
line50: (configure MOT1550/90301070 (LD 0
line51: (io 0 (size 8) (base 0x03e8) (check))
line55: (int 0 (irq 10 ( mode +e)))
When i run the command: isapnp /etc/isapnp.conf i get the following
error:
isapnp.conf: 51 -- Fatal io range check attemted while device
isapnp.conf: 51 -- Fatal error occured executing request activated
[IORESCHECK]
further action aborted
My questions are: Is there any other way to have my modem detected
automaticaly?
Is using kppp the correct method to have
my modem detected?
If i have to go through the procedure
described above
how do i correct the error that i'm
getting.
