Melissa: The 9.1 Manuals are available online. While they aren't exactly "The Definitive Guide to Absolutely Everything Anyone Would Ever Want to Know About Mandrake Linux", they contain some very useful information, particularly for recent Windows refugees: http://doc.mandrakelinux.com/MandrakeLinux/91/en/Quick_Startup.html/ http://doc.mandrakelinux.com/MandrakeLinux/91/en/Starter.html/ Two things to watch out for: 1. Don't format your partitions with ext2 -- use one of the journalling filesystems. Journalling filesystems protect you against power failures, hitting reset, or doing something really stupid. Most folks seem to use either ext3 (the default) or reiser. Ext2 is for masochists. 2. Don't select any of the higher security levels unless you really know what you're doing. This ain't Windows. When these guys say "high", they mean very, very high. You're best off going with the default. -- cmg
