Still it is a classic TVI problem. The ferrite beads will probably
solve it. It also sounds like you have some rather bad leakage from
your cable TV system installation. Cable company's are well known for
leakage problems. If it should happen again you may want to unplug
cables from your computer 1 at a time and see if it goes away. ( a
bit difficult to do with the power cable ) The power cable sounds
like the first place to try a ferrite bead. When you enter into the
world of RF ( radio frequency ) strange things can and often do
happen or at least they seem strange at the time. If you get to
understand the nature of RF it all starts to make perfect sense. Fun
stuff more addicting than computers LOL. The kind of signal mixing
that you are talking about is common, in fact a lot of folks use it
to listen to cell phone calls on scanners that have the cell phone
frequency's blocked.
