He sounds like a resource that definitely should be encouraged.  
However, in addition to Margot's coffee suggestion (which I heartily 
endorse) do memeber that the most helpful of techy males have a 
tendency to take the keyboard.  Things work when they are finished, 
but you are no wiser.  Hence the coffee bit <g>
