Yes there is, the isapnptools. But you will want to read the documentation in
/usr/doc/isapnptools/*. The information there is relatively complex, so be well
rested when you start. In essence what you do is run pnpdump >
/etc/isaapnp.conf then edit the /etc/isapnp.conf file for your specific setup,
then run isapnp. That is only if your sound card is a PnP card on the ISA
bus.
Then set up the card with sndconfig, and if necessary, do the manual setup from
within sndconfig. Both the isapnptools, and sndconfig are command line apps, so
you will have to run them from a console window or a console screen as root.
Note: The output from pnpdump found in the /etc/isapnp.conf file is a little
confusing at first, that's why you will want to be rested, and read the
documentation before you begin. It is however a text file, and can be read and
edited with your favorite Linux based text editor.
You can also look in the list archives for more information and tips, this
question has been asked before.
Hope this helps,
Ernie
