urpmi is the tool for installing and uninstalling. It takes care of
dependencies and a lot of other issues. If you use the gui software
installer that is just a front-end for urpmi, so it's doing the same
thing. Stick to the gui for now, then read the TWiki page UsingUrpmi
when you are ready for it.

If you are not sure whether you have something installed, open a
console and type
urpmq packagename - eg. urpmq webmin
If you have it installed it will list the package name for you. Try
it

Have you visited http://twiki.mdklinuxfaq.org yet?

I havent tried that yet but I will.
I have just installed everything I could find with dchp in it, and still its
dead.
When I shut it down just now to get back to my email I noticed that webmin
was shut down, so I presume it is there.
I did tryto configure it in expert mode.
First I went into ipconfig and got my ip address and gateway and subnet
mask.
Then typed in all the relevant numbers and its still dead.
The profile thing and hostname what are these, and should they be filled
in????????
Is there anyone out there who know how to set it up manually.
Still no sound either but I would rather get my internet connection working
first.
