Rick,
Here is my ifcfg-wlan0 file:

DEVICE=wlan0
BOOTPROTO=dhcp
NETMASK=255.255.255.0
NETWORK=192.168.1.1
BROADCAST=192.168.1.255
ONBOOT=yes

In order to configure the card, I needed to bind it to the wlan-ng prism2
drivers(because it was unrecognized), and configure the wlan-ng package.

I don't know what you mean by running a wireless exclusively, kindly explain
what you mean.

When I get an IP, I have perfect internet access. I can use the internet and
send e-mail, and anything else you need to do. I'm not sure what DNS is or if
it does, but it probably does because everything works normally just like I'm
connected with Windows. I believe I'm authenticated too.

Here's my ifconfig output when I'm connected:
lo        Link encap:Local Loopback
          inet addr:127.0.0.1  Mask:255.0.0.0
          UP LOOPBACK RUNNING  MTU:16436  Metric:1
          RX packets:180 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
          TX packets:180 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
          collisions:0 txqueuelen:0
          RX bytes:12264 (11.9 Kb)  TX bytes:12264 (11.9 Kb)

wlan0     Link encap:Ethernet  HWaddr 00:00:D1:21:C7:B0
          inet addr:192.168.1.101  Bcast:192.168.1.255  Mask:255.255.255.0
          UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
          RX packets:839 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
          TX packets:877 errors:0 dropped:1 overruns:0 carrier:0
          collisions:0 txqueuelen:100
          RX bytes:330883 (323.1 Kb)  TX bytes:34746 (33.9 Kb)
          Interrupt:3 Base address:0x100

When I'm not connected, and can't reach the internet, wlan0 shows no inet
addr. There is also an added wlan0:9, with basically the same message as
wlan0 and also with no IP.

Here is my iwconfig output:

[EMAIL PROTECTED] marc]# iwconfig
lo        no wireless extensions.

eth0      no wireless extensions.

wlan0     IEEE 802.11-b  ESSID:"linksys"  Nickname:"linksys"
          Mode:Managed  Frequency:2.437GHz  Access Point: 00:06:25:E7:C1:C1
          Bit Rate:11Mb/s   Tx-Power:2346 dBm
          Retry min limit:8   RTS thr:off   Fragment thr:off
          Encryption key:off
          Link Quality:62/92 Signal level:-56 dBm Noise level:-98 dBm
          Rx invalid nwid:0 Rx invalid crypt:0 Rx invalid frag:0
          Tx excessive retries:0  Invalid misc:0   Missed beacon:0

Everything there is correct. The essid is linksys. Encryption is turned off
too.

Also, if you need any more information, Derek Jennings, in this message group,
is the one who helped me. He probably knows more about what I did than I do.
