Use it with "kooka" on KDE if you want a gui for it.
I have nothing against gui, but I don't like being dependent only on gui.
So, I load kooka, it finds my scanner OK, But after that I never could get the thing to either, scan an image, or , load an existing image. and so therfore I have rather tended to neglect kooka in favour of Xsane.
I wonder if Xsane works with OCR ?
Works very nicely in combination with "sane"
The only thing sort of unclear is that it creates it's own directory and sees only that.
The folder is made in .kde/share/apps/ScanImages/ which isn't that obvious IMHO.
So if you want to scan an image you've already got, you have to move it into that folder.
OK, done that, but again my CL sane is near nothing. I suppose I ought to remidy that. I will have a try later.
