Hi Joe,

VMWare is looking for the kernel source files for your kernel so it can compile 
against it and install a driver. My guess is you didn't install the sources, so VMWare 
can't find what it's trying to compile against. You have to install the source files 
for your current kernel. You should just be able to type (at the console):

urpmi kernel-source

and it will get your kernel source files for you. If you installed from CD, it will 
ask you for one of the Mandrake CDs (2 I think).

Then run the VMWare configure program again and it should work :). If not, post the 
new version of the error that I copied above and we'll try again :)
