Since upgrading from MK 9.1 to 10 (final download) with kernel 2.4.21-0.13mdk I am unable to run k3b (0.11.12-2.3mdk) under KDE, and unable to kill the splash screen, either as user or as root.
Seems to hang at "Scanning for CD devices"
Try upgrading your kernel to the latest available in the updates directory. I experienced this on my Thinkpad and it went away when I upgraded the kernel.
2.4.21 is the 9.1 kernel. 2.6.3 is the 10.0 kernel so you should try to upgrade anyway.
Thanks Greg
After a bit of trouble I was able to upgrade, but unfortunately the scsi modules for 2 scanners (flatbed and slide) do not work under 2.6.3.
Then I have to configure Win4Lin so that I do not have to keep rebooting.
I'll keep plugging away. I see some stuff on netraverse site about configuring 2.6 kernels, so it can be done. not so sure about the scanners, though.
