Actually decided to give it a play, and here's a few notes:

1) Do not click on the "About" tab, as it locks the program up!

2) It doesn't seem to play well with Realplayer10, but seems to work 'ok' with
the Mandrake RealPlayer8 rpms

3) It doesn't put the save path and save filename together properly, you need
to prefix the save filename with a / to save where you want, or look 1
directory up to find your file!

4) There's a button for scheduled recording, but that's just a tease, it's not
implemented yet, so no set-and-forget for those of us on the far side of the
planet.

5) You can save as .wav, or encode to .mp3 or .ogg on the fly, but it doesn't
let you set encoder options, so mp3 is 128kbps

6) It only records at what seems like quarter speed! The solution, according
to the temporary homepage, is to record to wav and afterwards execute:
    "sox infile.wav outfile.wav speed 4.0"
Afterwards you can manually encode to mp3 or ogg.

7) I'll leave it to the experts to decide on the quality of playback, but it
apparently uses sox to capture the sound coming out of the dsp like LX's
method.

According to the home-page (http://www.kde.me.uk/index.php?page=realrekord),
it was abandoned, then rescued, now appers abandoned again, so who knows if
the 'quirks' will ever be fixed.

Guess it's better than nothing, I'll have to wait for the repeat streams to be
posted and do them manually. Unless someone can knock together some scripts
for us???

John.
