I upgraded to the latest kernel, and things are looking pretty good
here.
I am anxious to move up to Mdk10.1 as soon as I can get to my
sister's place to use her broadband to download.

One strange thing I have going on is that my usb storage pen that I
got with my Inspiron, is leaving a mounted harddrive icon on my
desktop even after I remove it. It still works OK, and shows up as
device #2 when I plug it in. That icon correctly disappears when I
unplug though. I think what may have occurred is that I rebooted with
the pen plugged in. Could that have caused this?? How do I get rid of
the bogus icon??

I am now able to correctly power down with acpi and acpid installed
and configured, as per the instructions I received here. :-)
Klaptop is pretty cool.

Best regards.....many thanks to all.
