Yes I have shared the printer on the XP Box but, no I have not set the Linux box to the workgroup in SAMBA. Do you know how to do that?

Maybe a dumb question, but happened to me so often... You said you have
file and printer sharing turned on, but have you shared the printer?

Have you set your linux box (samba) and your Windows box to be on the
same workgroup (another windows thing).... ?

Subject: [newbie] Connecting to and printer attached to a Windows XP
computer

I am trying to print to a printer attached to a Windows XP computer from
my Linux 10.1 computer. I have file and print sharing turned on on the
XP computer and CUPS and SAMBA client loaded on the LINUX computer. When I run install printer from Linux and check the box that says I want
to print to printer on the Windows computer, it goes out to look for it
but, never finds it. Does anyone have any ideas??????

Thanks,
Steve
