Derek,

I am using Ethernet connection only.
To my eyes, it looks that the computer connects to the Router correctly. I
can see all the signals from Router and from the port.

But I said "The connection works in XP"
means it works in another computer at home. So may be some problems in my
ethernet network card or with my Linux.

Could you please tell me step by step
instructions to connect to the router.

I can even try that in the console if Mandrake control center is nt
sufficient.

(I believe that there is no problem with my
network card, as it is new and picked up
by Mandrake correctly)

Cheers Amala Singh.

Dumb question - Is this a one port router - in other words, can you only have one computer hooked to it at a time? If so, it sounds like you are trying to change computers hooked to it. If that is the case, you may have to "power cycle" it before it will talk to a different NIC. I have found this to be true of most of the DSL router/modems.
