Hello. I have just reconfigured my system to make it more accessible by non-MS Operating systems. This is what I have. I have a 6.4 gig (C partition) drive on my primary Controller, a DVD as master on my Secondary, a Mitsumi CDR on slave on my secondary. I have a 9.1 gig on my promise Ultra66 card as master, and a 13.6 gig as slave to the 9.1 gig. I have an additional 8 gig hard drive as master on the secondary controller on my Promise card. As I have an ATI Rage Fury in my system (gotta love the hard-ware assisted DVD =), it took Mandrake 7 to get me serious about installing Linux (since it is the first version of Mandrake/Red hat I have seen with native support for the Fury, without resorting to messing with the SUSE drivers). I currently have Windows 98 on my C partition. Windows 2000 Is on my 9 gig hard drive. Here are my questions, 1) If I let linux install lilo. It should have two options it can boot to, right? Linux and DOS. If I let it boot to DOS, will it, in actuality, load the windows 2k boot loader? This would be ideal to me. Would the windows 2k boot loader survive having been moved by Lilo? 2) How do I get linux to recognize the drives on the Promise card, I was under the impression it had built in support for the Ultra66... 3) Is there a DVD player for linux? Thanks everyone!
