I've been trying install the Secure Server Edition of Mandrake 7.0 (That's
the Macmillan Publishing version I bought at CompUSA).
The system I'm installing to is an Intergraph TD-4. It's a Dual Pentium 90
with 96MB RAM. It has NCR SCSI (I'm not sure what chipset). with a Toshiba
CD-ROM [ID4], a Conner 1.0GB [ID1], and a Micropolis 4.3GB [ID0]. It has a
built-in NIC, but I have no clue what it is... (I know, I really need to
take a closer look at the motherboard...)
Anyways, the problem with installing is actually the video card. Originally,
it had a Diamond Stealth 64 DRAM PCI. The install got all the way to the
last step, Configuring X.
It then spit out an error that said it couldn't find Server_S3. I replace
the vid card with a PCI Trident Chipset, and I also tried another with a PCI
Tseng Chipset. Both times, I resinstalled completely, and got to the same
spot at the end and got back that it couldn't find Server_SVGA.
Any ideas? Are these vid cards just so cheesey that they won't work or
something? I'm not to keen on digging up a higher-end PCI vid card for
something that is just bascially going to sit around and be a minor web
server for me....
