[newbie] Sound questions

I have an odd "problem" with sound. My AWE 64 was detected with no problems
and will play sounds back from the KDE sound util. However, when I set up a
sound scheme for certain events it never plays the sounds. I can test the
scheme out and it plays but the event never triggers the sound to actually
play.

Ideas?
